Judicial Voter Guide and Recommendations

2024 Florida Supreme Court Justices

Florida Supreme Court

Of all the branches of government, the judicial branch has done the most damage to the constitution, life, and the rule of law. In Florida though, voters have the right to kick judicial activists out of office when their retention vote comes up. We also vote for judges at the county and circuit level.

Many of you have asked for judicial election and retention recommendations. I have great news for you! They are now available to view below.

Voters in Florida are already voting, so please share this voter guide with your family, friends, neighbors, and friends on social media!

The Family Policy Council Judicial Voter Guide is useless and really should not be referred to as a guide at all. It is merely a collection of links to the candidate’s 100-word-or-less filing, a link to the candidate’s website, or both. Is that really what passes for a guide these days? When trying to determine which elected judges embody similar values, virtues, and, above all, morals, that hold in esteem, I expect a guide to provide more information than what this “guide” provided. Please try to provide useful information in the future or refrain from publishing this guide at all.

I understand your frustrations! I don’t know if it’s totally non-partisan, but you can try the Be Ready to Vote guide and you can also go through the long pain-staking job of looking through their rulings on the court website as I did.

Please disregard the selfish criticism by Digitalshadow of the Family Policy Council Judicial Voter Guide. Just because it does not serve him (or her), should not be an indication of its usefulness for other folks. I have used this guide for years now and appreciate all the effort put into it. As indicated elsewhere, it is still the most comprehensive voting guide that I have come across, especially the judicial voting guides.

    1. We do have judicial retention recommendations, and in select races where we have enough information to make an accurate recommendation, we have recommended which judicial candidate to voter for.

I agree..we the people need to know each Judicial platform just because they are suppose to be non partisan doesn’t mean they are look at the Supreme Court of these supposed United States…I personally want to know their agenda!

Well I always vote them out to be sure none are put in that are bad.

    1. Some of the judges are good and should be retained. Please check our new judicial retention recommendations: http://www.flvotesvalues.com/2016/10/24/2016-florida-supreme-court-and-1st-2nd-3rd-4th-5th-district-court-of-appeals-judges-up-for-retention/.

That’s funny. It is like firing all your employees every year because you have no idea if they are good workers or not.

    2. Alton,
If you vote them all out, you will be voting out some good judges. Depending on who wins the governor’s race, that could be detrimental.

Judge Nelly Khouzam is pro-life. All of her decisions have been pro-life. Your recommendation to retain her needs to be changed to a YES. Bill Bunkley from the religious radio station 570 realized that he had made an error by not recommending her when he noticed that information from another judge was incorrectly placed in her file. When he realized that error, his recommendation is now to vote YES to retain Judge Nelly Khouzam, she is
PRO-LIFE, Florida needs more judges like her.

THIS WHOLE REPUBLICAN VOTER GUIDE THING IS REALLY ALL SCREWED UP!… I SEE NOTHING CONCERNING SHOULD SO-IN -SO JUSTICE,….. BE ALLOWED TO BE RETIANED TO OFFICE…. THERE IS NO OVER VIEW OF ANY OF THE CANADITIES LISTED TOGETHER COMPARING THEMSELVES AGAINST EACH OTHER!……NO WONDER WHY BROWARD COUNTY IS GOING ALL TO THE LEFT-WING-HOMO DEMOCRATS !

    1. Our voter guide is not a Republican voter guide. For our local voter guides, we did invite all candidates to participate. It is true that many of the Democrats don’t bother Responding.
Our Judicial Voter Guide now has been updated to include judicial retention recommendations. These recommendations have been made after carefully reviewing their decisions in the cases that have come before them.

See who appointed the judges. A Republican or Democrat.

      1. Our recommendations are better than that. Our recommendations are based on research from attorneys who track every decision of these judges.

I just wanted to thank you for this guide, it’s so hard to find good information on where judges stand on the issues and I wanted to make sure I voted against all of them who abuse their position to try to shove their religion down my throat. This was very helpful in identifying which ones those are. I’ve bookmarked you for future reference.

    1. You’re welcome.

This is most helpful, even to get a view other than the MSM. Finding enough information on judges is exasperating and I rely on who supports them and miscellaneous information to decide. Thank you so much for another view.

    1. You’re welcome.

Amendment #11 would allow illegals to own real estate in our country. Why would any American citizen ever endorse this?
This recommendation needs to be changer to NO!

    1. The FL Constitution has a provision that prohibits any non-citizen, legal or illegal from owning land. Courts have found similar provisions in other states to be unconstitutional which is why the current amendment isn’t enforced. While we do support prosecuting illegal immigrants, we do not agree with prohibiting legal, non-citizens from owning property.

After searching for judge info for hours this is the best / only thing I can find to even try to say which judges are good or bad except for NRA picks.

Problem is aside from being religious so I assume you are prolife I have no clue how you picked your yes’s and no’s.

What did you use to choose and how did they vote on issues like gun control?

    1. Our recommendations are based on consultation with attorneys who track every decision of every judge. These attorneys are looking for whether the judges adjudicate cases based on what the constitution and laws actually say or whether they base their decisions on a living breathing constitution whose meaning changes over time. Even worse, some judges have cited foreign decisions in their rulings. Judges who believe the constitution should be interpreted as written are known as constructionists. Judges who believe the constitution is a living, breathing document are activist judges that often legislate from the bench.

JAMES A HAMMERS – Your comment ends with a very HATEFUL line! Why do you have to be HATEFUL of others? Your entire post becomes IRRELEVANT when your true AGENDA is revealed. I could call you all kinds of names here, but I am sick and tired of people resorting to that. Have a GREAT DAY!

    Thank You for answering!
The last comment is typical of people who call everyone else who do not agree with them hypocritical, bigoted and narrow minded WOW – wonder what they see when they look in the mirror? I read something that said – after they look in a mirror they walk away and forget what they saw.

For clarification- Pastor your reply’s in the above comments- how can anyone say they are hateful – it seems people try all kinds of ways especially calling people names like Hate or Hateful to shut others up. My suggestion is ignore those kind of comments which in themselves seem hateful. Again everyone one of us looks in a mirror, everyone has the ability to do good and evil including speaking. Its only by HIS GRACE that we breath and will one day all will stand before The LORD one day.
